Plastic Justice Assembly

The final event of the Plastic Justice project took place on Friday 24 June 2022. Hosted by the the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) at the Royal Conservatoire, The Hague, the Plastic Justice Assembly brought together experts from across journalism, activism and design to present a series of research methods, tackling environmental issues and public health accountability. 
 
The event discussed contemporary approaches to integrating climate justice into education and showcased the findings of the project including the Plastic Justice Repository website, Plastic Justice Verdict policy brief and the Plastic Justice Teachers Guide.

Plastic Justice A Teachers' Guide aims to inspire, inform and encourage innovative new thinking and actions among students and teachers alike.  
 
Teachers and students from five art and design institutions and members of the ELIA Team contributed to the creation of the teachers' guide as part of the Plastic Justice Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership Project (2020 - 2022). 
 
Grappling with a wealth of complex questions on: 
  • Activism and policy change 
  • Drafting policy letters 
  • Sustainability 
  • Students, tutors, and the Plastic Justice Project 
  • Environmental issues in the art and design academy 
  • Theory and practice: environment and design curriculum 
  • Addressing sociopolitical challenges in an art academy
